A 57-year-old cisgender woman with HIV is followed in a clinic during the year 2021. In March, she has a medical visit and laboratory studies show a CD4 count of 386 cells/mm³ and an HIV RNA level of 53 copies/mL. She missed an appointment in June. In the month of August, she is seen again in the clinic and has an HIV RNA level below the limit of detection. She missed another appointment in November. During her last scheduled appointment of the year, she is seen in December but forgets to go to the laboratory and does not have any laboratory studies performed for that visit.
